The objective of this study is Clinical Nephrology and Research is an open access, peer reviewed journal that provides widespread health care updates on latest research happenings for the readers from various branches of renal (kidney) diseases. It lays a strong platform for researches in Acute and chronic renal diseases caused by diabetes mellitus, stone disease, hypertension, poisons, infections and hereditary illness, diagnosis and management.
Nephrology (from Greek nephros "kidney", combined with the suffix -logy, "the study of") is a specialty of medicine and pediatric medicine that concerns with study of the kidneys, specifically normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy (dialysis and kidney transplantation).
Nephrology also studies systemic conditions that affect the kidneys, such as diabetes and autoimmune disease; and systemic diseases that occur as a result of kidney disease, such as renal osteodystrophy and hypertension. A physician who has undertaken additional training and become certified in nephrology is called a nephrologist.
The unlikely happens: How to identify rare diseases such as Listeria monocytogenes peritonitis in an HIV-infected patient. The article discusses the first reported case of Listeria monocytogenes peritoneal dialysis (PD) peritonitis in an HIV-infected patient. Clinicians should recognize that immunocompromised patients are at risk for uncommon opportunistic infections, for which empiric antibiotics may be ineffective. However, it was possible to successfully treat the patient with intraperitoneal ampicillin.
